1. Wilderness and Off Road Territory:
Four miles from the cabin the 510 road turns off from the paved 550 road. From this road you can access hundreds of miles of two tracks and trails good for four wheeling, hiking, camping.
2. Fishing:
Lake Independence: Lake independence has northern pike, bass, walleye pike, perch and rock bass.
Trout Streams: Within 20 miles of the cabin are trout streams: The Yellow Dog River, Big Pup Creek, Alder Creek, the Salmon Trout River as well as other creeks and beaver dams.
3. Swimming:
Lake Superior is less than two miles from the cabin. Swim from beautiful, sandy Squaw Beach.
4. Scenic beauty:
Waterfalls on the Yellow Dog River are nearby. The Triple A Road goes up into the mountains nearby. The Ford Road takes you to Big Erick's Bridge near Lanse. Get lost for hours or days on end in God's beautiful Upper Peninsula country. Wilderness and yet accessable by two wheel drive cars.
